You’re correct that there are plenty of good domain writers out there. For whatever reason, I can learn from most of them, yet seem to really connect, ‘get it’ and even get pumped up from a handful. Perhaps you four guys speak my language.

No matter the level of accomplishment, I respect the abilities of anyone who can derive income in this competitive business. I also realize that there are levels of achievement in the domain space, just like anywhere else.

For example, just because my old swim coach wasn’t Mark Spitz doesn’t mean I didn’t learn a lot from him.

I’m grateful to those who take the time with those who are less advanced and am glad when domainers as a group can get along, disagreements and all.

While I’m certain to hold a different world view than many other domainers, I’m kind of a ‘Rodney King type of guy’ and am pleased when we can all get along, unless someone is simply trying to be mean to others.

As I’ve mentioned before, I greatly enjoy reading the writings of you, Rick and the Castello brothers.

I’ll also freely admit to not only printing out and reading many different articles by each of you four experienced and successful domainers, but I do what many others probably do not..that’s because I go back and RE-READ what you, Rick and the Castello brothers have written, sometimes a year or more later.

This has shown me how accurate you all have been in many of your statements and predictions.

As a result, I have tremendous respect for
(1). The guts for you all to go on the record, whether eventually proven correct on a particular topic or not,
(2). Each of your posts containing helpful comments to so many of us who have not attained such lofty heights of domaining and
(3). Each of your respective strengths. Stephen, you have a clarity of writing style that I find highly readable. Rick has a different style that to me appears open, yet ‘layered’ with levels of meaning; He also seems to really know human nature. The Castello brothers have a very friendly style that makes it very hard not to like them. I can easily grasp how all of you have been successful.

As long as you four guys keep writing, I’ll be reading.

While I appreciate you including me in this honored group of successful domainers and their writings, I am by far no where close to being as respected as Rick Schwartz and the Costello Brothers, all of who I really respect, although I tend to get on Rick’s nerves. lol

Don’t forget the excellent scoops by Andrew Allemann of Domainnamewire.com, Adam Strong and Frank Michlich of Domainnamenews.com, the smooth discussions of Sahar Sarid on Conceptualist.com, and by far, the godfather of domain news, Ron Jackson of DNJournal. Ron is probably the most mature and worldly of all of us, and he’s got the ZEN personality to make him a great person to spend time with in person.

All of these very talented and smart writers are friends of mine – and I’m sure they wish they could escape my insistent begging of them to like me, but they help me all the time in finding new info, allowing me to make crazy comments, and just being all around very cool guys to hang with. Let me not forget, the amazing success of Elliot Silver on Elliotsblog.com. In just a few years, he’s dedicated to smartly and aptly helping the beginners learn the ropes, while at the same time reminding us professionals the nuts and bolts of what we’re all working to accomplish.

There are many other newcomers on the scene, Chef Patrick, DomainTweeter, and the compiler of all this for the record is Francois Carrillo of Domaining.com. There are more I am impressed with that I haven’t mentioned here. Soon tho, they will rise to the top also.

Keep an eye out for their articlles. They are very informed and respected.

It wasn’t because I had differing views from his article on domain development, it was because i didn’t give him a chance to print my comment to his post, and that was unfair to Rick. This I accept as a mistake on my part, and hope that in the future, Rick and I can argue again with lots of polite asides and civilized discourse, a la Sahar Sarid style..
