PREDICTION: WHYPARK WILL SOON BE LARGEST DOMAIN PARKING SPOT
July 15th, 2010 Posted in General Domain NewsWHYPARK WILL BE THE BIGGEST DOMAIN PARKING COMPANY WITHIN TWO YEARS
That’s a bold statement. And for my friends at TZ, DomainSponsor, Roar, NameDrive and other well-run PPC locations to put your relevant domains, this doesn’t mean bad times for them – they’re not making any money on your non-performing “typein” domains anyway. It’s just that I believe that WhyPark is the premier “strategic” domain-building source for domainers who have a strong niche category portfolio with longtails or obscure/esoteric phrases.
I’m now making as much money from my Whypark domains (300 count) as at least one popular PS with 1500 domains I’ve parked there. This is amazing for two reasons, one obvious:
1) I’m making the same or more revenue from 1/5 the domains I have parked at a high profile PS.
2) The domains I moved to WhyPark are longtails, esoteric, and obscure. They were making NOTHING prior to moving them to WhyPark.
Now, WhyPark is giving their clients a basket of gifts (Apps) that greatly push your domain to content development processing you never imagined would be possible before. For those who want the best, WhyPark makes it AFFORDABLE for the smallest domainer to build their domains to their full potential. Never before, and no other company, offers what WhyPark gives you. Even if you come in on a free account and pay them nothing, their tools allow you to GET SOMETHING from your non-performing domains you just can’t get rid of (because you know they’ll flip at some point).
I’m a huge WhyPark fan, and if you believe in what my decade+ experience brings to the domaining table, you’ll at least take a very close look at this company. Additionally, their live customer service, commanded by the expert WP administrator, Kelly Urqhart and the fact that this website is controlled by unquestionably one of the smartest (and honest) domain coders, Craig Rowe, should make you say “okay, cook me up a few of them hotdogs!”
Here’s their recent NR on their APP features that will have you slobbering…

If you have been at this game for 10+ years and make a statement as ignorant as saying that the parking companies are not making any money off of type-in domains then you have no credibility….IMO.
How could you possibly say this unless you don’t have any decent type-in traffic yourself?
If I take my type-in traffic and point it to Amazon I make money. Why is that?
According to Parked and my own stats I have less than 1% Google traffic referral yet I still do thousands in uniques and income every month.

Hi Bob,
I never said you can’t make money off of “typein” traffic on PS’s, I was referring to my “non-performing” domains, in other words, domains that do NOT get typein traffic on PS’s, hence, my use of the adjectives “obscure, longtails, and esoteric” in describing the domains I moved to Whypark.
Maybe the confusion is that I forgot to remove the word “typein” when I said “non performing”. So I was referring to “non-typein” domains to move to Whypark, and most domainers own these types of domains. I’ve made the change to make this more clear. I thought the next two numbered statements would make that obvious though.
As a consultant for a major domain company a few years back, I parked over 200,000 domains at six different parking services for almost 2 years, so I know what works and what doesn’t for pure “typein” monetization. This isn’t what WhyPark’s strategy is. It’s for domains that would flip good, build out nicely, or brand up in value, and people want , easily-built custom content on them to gain an SER advantage and more options for monetization with their domains.
Thanks for writing and showing concern, but I would like it if you re-read the article and gave me another assessment.

Okay….I see ….my bad.
I did not read that correctly. I was very surprised when you said that.

WhyPark has lots of good things going on.
By Louise on Jul 26, 2010
WhyPark is the bomb! Not only the apps you list above, but the ability of users to submit content in the form of paid business listings! Is that new since you posted? That would answer my needs on domains which define a category of businesses, such as:
Advertising-Agencies.us
Fun playing with that!

With evidence to support the claim, WhyPark is not going to be hte top domain parking spot. Google’s Panda has already de ranked or de indexed many of my top performing WhyPark domains.
I moved my good domains to blogspot to build into blogs. Only a few of my domains remain operable on WhyPark. The revenue has tumbled. WhyPark’s traffic and Alexa ranking have taken a drop.
You wrote this article at a time when Whypark seemed to be thriving. However, a lot has changed since then. Look at the wrath of the Panda. Now that some traffic is returning, the revenue is essentially gone. Taking traffic away, and then return it several months later will cause one to lose their fans.
In my honest opinion, your WhyPark prediction is wrong. You can’t build a brand on WP because search engines, especially Google, target keyword WP sites. They assume all WP sites are the same with rotating articles. Nonetheless, there are domainers who develop the sites with quality content.
Domain parking companies are no longer paying out good on education ad clicks. You can see that Panda impacted WP. Many people have reached another one of my domain blogs based on their WP de indexing and de ranking concerns.
It is easy to connect the dots, demonstrating that there is unfair competition going on (supported with reliable data). Traffic is returning again, though it is now too late since lost traffic affected revenue earnings.
